SEO: Using Rich Snippets to Increase Clicks
Rich snippets are displayed for your search results as soon as search engines crawl the MicroData the plugin has created. However, it’s totally up to search engines to display rich snippets for your search result (which mostly depends on your website authority). If rich snippets are not appearing in your search results yet, most probably they will start appearing soon as Google / other search engines find your website more authoritative.
Meanwhile – you can validate and see the preview of your rich snippets on [Google Structured Data Testing Tool here].
Download the All In One Rich Media Snippet plugin from https://wordpress.org/plugins/all-in-one-schemaorg-rich-snippets/ and install it on WordPress.
Once installed, the Rich Snippets panel would be created on the LHS of your WordPress dashboard. From here, you can access the global settings. The configuration settings applied through the configuration panel are global and will affect the complete website. It is advisable not to change configuration settings from here. Because every landing page may have different business goal and objective, they would have the different type of content aligned with those goals and objectives. We should markup the on-page content with appropriate and relevant rich media snippets from Posts and Pages section only for those landing pages.
You should adjust the design of Summary Box from Customization panel so that it matches with your landing page theme. From the Customization panel, you can change the color of the Summary box that would be displayed on your landing page after marking up your content for rich media using All In One Schema.org.You can find the Configure Rich Snippets panel while creating or edit posts and pages from WordPress dashboard. Simply fill in the required information in the Rich Snippets panel to best describe content assets on the page. Make sure the information is aligned and related with on page content.
You can markup content for rich snippets using the steps below:
1.From the WordPress dashboard, select Pages > All Pages.
2.Select the page you want to markup with rich media snippets.
3.In the Edit Page window, scroll down to Configure Rich Snippets panel.
4.Select the snippet type that best aligns with your content from drop down menu.
5.Fill in the required information.
6.Click update to publish.
7.Validate with Google’s structure metadata testing tool.
Preview on Google SERP – Item Review Rich Snippets:
A review is someone’s evaluation of something. This schema is used for marking up your product, service, business and different creative works such as books or movies with review information and ratings.
When Google finds valid reviews or ratings markup, it may show a rich snippet that includes stars and other summary info from reviews or ratings. In addition to the text of the review, a rating is an evaluation described on a numeric scale (such as 1 to 5).
Preview on Google SERP – Events Rich Snippets:
This Schema is used to mark up dates around specific events, such as a concert, festival, conference or performance. The intent of the data is meant to be factual and not specifically as a sales promotion.
Event markup describes the details of organized events. When you use it in your content, that event becomes relevant for enhanced search results for relevant queries.
For example, searching for a famous musician might bring up a relevant website link, but if the musician’s site uses event markup, the Google Search result can show a list of upcoming performance dates for that musician.
Preview on Google SERP – Person’s Rich Snippets:
This schema is used to classify information about a specific person. This person can be alive or dead, even fictional. The tagging captures data points related directly to the person. Potential tags include address, related URL, job title and birth date.
Preview on Google SERP – Product Rich Snippets:
This Schema is used to identify information relating to a product, from price to reviews to product ID to manufacturer information. You can also add your aggregate rating information based on your average rating and overall number of reviews.
If you are a merchant, you can give Google detailed product information that Google can use to display rich results (for example, price, availability, and review ratings) right on Search results pages.
Using markup to enable rich product results lets you attract potential buyers while they are searching for items to buy on Google. You can maintain the accuracy and freshness of your product information, so your customers find the relevant, current items they are looking for.
